2014 Visiting Professorship Weekend Event

Dear UroGator colleagues and friends,

On behalf of everyone on our faculty and staff, many thanks to all who attended the David M. Drylie Visiting Professorship weekend of events that took place Nov. 21st through 23rd. In addition to having a world renowned pediatric urologist as our Visiting Professor (Dr. David Diamond, Urologist-in-Chief; Associate Clinical Ethicist; Senior Associate in Urology Professor of Surgery, Harvard Medical School; Alan B. Retik Chair & Professor of Surgery, Harvard Medical School), we were able to honor one of our own living pioneers in the field of Pediatric Urology.

About 300 people joined to celebrate the lifetime accomplishments of our very own Dr. Dixon Walker as he received the Golden Gator Lifetime Achievement in Urology award. In addition to his family and close friends, former UF residents, fellows, faculty and peers were on hand to celebrate this very special moment.

I want to thank those who came to the event. And, for those whose schedules did not permit them to make the trip to Gainesville, we have attached some event photos in this email to give you an idea of how special it was to celebrate Dr. Walker, our dear friend and colleague.

For those who are interested in making a gift to the Dixon Walker, M.D., Pediatric Urology Professorship, please call Ted Kruljac at (352) 273-9059 and he will guide you through the very simple process.

Lastly, thank you and warmest holiday wishes to ALL Urogators, who are a significant and integral part of our very proud and distinguished heritage at the University of Florida Department of Urology.

Sincerely,

Dr. Johannes Vieweg
