June is Men’s Health Month.  On Wednesday, June 28th, Dr. Brandon Otto was featured on WCJB’s Medical Segment discussing prostate cancer, treatment options and new recommendations for men.


What You Should Know:

Prostate Cancer is mostly asymptomatic

Early detection is key

Recommended age for screening is 55 to 69 for the average man

Earlier screenings for first-degree male relatives or African American males

African American men are twice as likely to be at risk for the aggressive form of prostate cancer,
and twice as likely to die from the disease
