Thomas F. Stringer, MD Granted Promotion

The University of Florida Board of Trustees and the College of Medicine has recently announced the promotion of its faculty and tenure appointments. Congratulations to Dr. Thomas F. Stringer, who was promoted to Clinical Associate Professor of Urology.

Important factors in granting tenure and promotion include international recognition of scholarship, the quality and impact of teaching and contributions to the University of Florida.  Dr. Stringer joined the UF Department of Urology in July, 2011.  His clinical interests and skills are: Prostate Cancer Screening, Benign Prostate Disease, Erectile Dysfunction, and Urinary Tract Infections.

It gives me great pleasure to announce the promotion of Tom Stringer to Clinical Associate Professor of Urology. Tom’s successful promotion is a true testament to his significant contributions to teaching and clinical care within our department and institution. He has played a vital role within our department, especially in educating our junior residents on the proper evaluation and management of the urologic patient. However, his contributions to education have extended well beyond our department, including mentoring family practice residents, as well as nurse practitioner and physician assistant students. Lastly his knowledge of the business of medicine and contract negotiation has benefitted many of our graduating residents as well as physicians nationwide.
