Researchers at the University of Florida have discovered the addition of Darling 58 ACT leaves to commercially available teas reduces their oxalate levels. American Chestnut Tree leaves, alone or in combination with tea leaves, may serve as a potential therapeutic to reduce oxalate levels and mitigate renal stone occurrence in stone formers wanting to enjoy the health benefits of freshly brewed tea.

Samsun Lampotang, Ph.D, FSSH, FAIMBE, and Thomas Stringer, M.D., FACS, have been awarded a grant from the Florida Department of Health Bankhead-Coley Cancer Research Program to build and verify a 3D perspective visualization guidance system for use with prostate biopsy equipment at the UF Urology Clinic.
John Michael DiBianco, MD, discusses the background and findings of the recent Journal of Endourology paper, “Development of a Surgical Decision Aid for Patients with Nephrolithiasis: Shockwave Lithotripsy vs Ureteroscopy.” DiBianco is an assistant professor of urology at the University of Florida, Gainesville.
