The Urology Department at the University of Florida, Gainesville and the Shands Health Care System have teamed up to develop one of the most advanced Male Infertility Centers offering the latest in treatment options for couples trying to achieve a pregnancy. We focus on the treatment of male factor infertility and work as a team with the Women's Fertility Health Center to provide complete care and support for you as a couple.

Our mission is to provide the highest level of care for male infertility and the most advanced innovative treatment options available to achieve your goal of having a child.

We offer the complete array of male infertility evaluation and treament options. We are the worlds' first Male Infertility Center to incorporate the DaVinci S High Definition Robotic Surgical System and offer a full array of robotic assisted microsurgical treatment options for male infertility (listed below).

Dr.Parekattil is one of the only male infertily specialized urologic surgeons who has dual fellowship training from the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Advanced Laparoscopy/Robotic Surgery and Microsurgery and Male Infertility. He was also an Electrical Engineer prior to his medical training and thus has pioneered surgical techniques incorporating robotic surgery, microsurgery and male infertility treatment.

DaVinci S High Definition Robotic Surgical SystemThe robot allows increased degrees of freedom in motion, similar to moving your wrist. This allows for enhanced dexterity, maneuverability and precision. We are one of the only a few centers in the world that offers the new DaVinci S High Definition Robotic Surgical System.

DaVinci S, the next generation robot, allows for greater maneuverability. It also includes an additional fourth robotic arm that allows for improved efficiency and multi-tasking during the procedure. The High Definition upgrade further allows for five times the 3D magnification over standard robotic surgery to allow for even more precision and accuracy during microsurgical cases.

Robot in Action!On July 25th, 2007, Dr. Parekattil performed the worlds first human bilateral robotic vasoepididymostomy - a complex robotic vasectomy reversal. The University of Florida and Shands is the worlds pioneer in developing this technique.
