Dr. Vinny Bird accepts position as UF Urology Associate Residency Program Director

Dr. Vinny Bird has recently accepted the position as Associate Program Director of the UF Urology Residency Program. In this role, he will be assisting the Residency Program Director, Dr. Philipp Dahm, MD, MHSc in leading the educational program. His contributions to the residency leadership are particularly welcome at a time when all ACGME-accredited urology programs are transitioning to the New Accreditation System and the use of Competency-Based Milestones as of July 2013.

Dr. Bird’s commitment to resident education is beyond question: Before joining UF, he served in a similar capacity at the University of Miami. Since his arrival at UF, he has been a strong resident advocate and an engaged clinical educator, serving as faculty mentor to countless residents and regularly participating in Education Committee meetings. Dr. Bird’s insights that stem from his strong clinical presence at Shands, as well as his clinical research engagement with the residents, will be invaluable to the further development of the UF Urology Residency Program as one of the best in the country.
