UF Urology Ranks #1 with Lowest Mortality in National Database

Patient safety and quality of care remain our Department’s highest priority. We place great effort in improving patient outcomes through annual quality improvement projects and multidisciplinary collaboration with services throughout UF Health.  As part of assessing our patient outcomes compared to other institutions, UF Health participates in the Vizient Health Care Network. This network comprises a national group of hospitals with over a 120 participating not-for-profit hospitals and provides data on patient outcomes among its members.

When reviewing our annual patient mortality rate from October 2015 through September 2016 UF Urology ranked #1 with the lowest observed mortality rate out of 120 participating Urology departments.

We are especially proud of this accomplishment given the complexity of cases performed at our intuition and grateful for all of the support our patients receive from our colleagues throughout UF Health.
