The University of Florida Department of Urology was represented by Dr. Tom Stringer, Dr. Elizabeth Kwenda, Mitsu Andre P.A. and Jasmine Brown P.A. at a Power over Prostate Cancer Gathering held at Springhill Missionary Baptist Church in Gainesville on February 11, 2023.

The goal of the gathering was to provide black men with prostate cancer updates on treatment and information on screening to avoid advanced prostate cancer at the time of diagnosis. Additionally, the gathering provided opportunities for black men with prostate cancer and their families to share and to learn ways to cope with the impact of this disease. Over 200 men and their families were in attendance at the event sponsored by UF Health Cancer Center and several local churches.
