We are excited to announce that several students from the J. Crayton Pruitt Family Department of Biomedical Engineering presented their work at the Senior Design Showcase on April 25, 2023 at the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering. Students from Team Uro-Vision have been working in the UF Department of Urology Research Laboratory to developing a “Urinary Stone Risk Factor Detection Device” that uses a phone camera and an app to rapidly analyze urine constituents. In this phase of the project, they focused on the detection of citrate concentration.

“Their project is truly impressive, and we are thrilled to have had the opportunity to work with such an outstanding group of talented students,” said Research Assistant Scientist Dr. William Donelan. UF Urologist Dr. Vincent G. Bird sponsored the students, and they also acknowledged Administrative Support Assistant, Kathe Wolford, in their poster.

We are proud to have played a part in the development of this innovative device and look forward to seeing its future success. Please join us in congratulating Kelsey Andux, Alexander Armstrong, Zoe Barinaga, Zinia Basil, Joshua Fernandez, Conor Given, and Sarah Parrett on their hard work and dedication to improving urological health.
