Why urology?
I love how diverse, stimulating, and rewarding the field of urology is. I appreciate the opportunity to offer continuity of care while also embracing the ability to physically fix a pathology in real time in the OR. The diversity of surgical approaches in urology is unrivaled and treating a wide range of conditions, in a wide range of patient demographics, is exciting and challenging. Lastly, I value the myriad of ways urology can impact patients’ lives, from relieving lower urinary tract symptoms to removing cancerous masses.
What are you most looking forward to?
I’m looking forward to getting to know my co-residents and all of the faculty, exploring Gainesville and the surrounding areas, learning how to be a urologist, and the warm weather!
What are your hobbies?
I like playing basketball, volleyball, tennis, as well as running and cycling. I love SCUBA diving when I get the chance – I got PADI certified while studying abroad in Australia and got to dive the Great Barrier Reef. I like photography and graphic design. And lastly, I love cooking new and challenging recipes; Anthony Bourdain & Jose Andres are my inspirations.
Got a funny story?
I was recently attacked by a goose. In the goose’s defense, he was protecting his mate who was sitting on her nest. In my defense, I had no intentions of hurting the lady goose or her eggs, I just simply wanted to pass. This caused a serious disagreement and unfortunately, we left on pretty bad terms.
