
The Department of Urology is excited to announce the promotion of two faculty and one staff member . Lawrence Yeung, M.D., has been promoted to the rank of clinical professor of urology and William Donelan, Ph.D., has been promoted to the rank of research associate scientist.
Dr. Yeung is a proud Gator, having earned his medical degree here at the University of Florida. He also completed his urology residency and fellowship here at the UF Department of Urology, as well as a fellowship in urologic reconstruction, urologic trauma and prosthetic urology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri. He currently serves as medical director for the UF Department of Urology.
Dr. Donelan earned his Ph.D. in biomedical sciences here at UF, as well as postdoctoral work in biochemistry and a postdoctoral fellowship in the UF Department of Urology. His research focuses on advancing our understanding of cancer immunology, particularly in the context of urologic cancers such as bladder, prostate and kidney cancer.
Michelle Van Leer, RN, MSN was promoted to Vice Chair of Administrative Affairs in the Department of Urology. Michelle is a proud double Gator, receiving her BSN in 1986 and her MSN in 2011. She has worked at UF Health since 1994 and with the department of urology since 2008. She also serves as the Director of Patient Quality and Safety for the UF Department of Urology.
