MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRMAN

To UroGator Alumni, Colleagues and Friends:

July 28, 2020 marked an important and historic date for our UF Department of Urology. It was on this day that we were notified that our urology program ascended into the US News and World Report Top 20 urology programs in the nation and the number one program in the state. Our No.17 national ranking marks three consecutive years of progress in our national reputation and the highest ranking received in the history of our department. Our continued success is credited to outstanding faculty, residents, advanced practice providers, nurses, researchers and support staff, but also to our culture.

Compassion, professionalism, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to excellence in patient-centered care, discovery and education is making a difference. These principles of our department have been especially notable even as we navigate the numerous challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. I want to thank our entire team and those who continue to support our numerous missions. I remain humbled and proud to be part of this outstanding organization.

It's great to be a UroGator!

Congratulations Dr. Thomas F. Stringer, Treasurer-Elect of the American Urological Association Board of Directors!

It is with great pride and excitement that we share the recent announcement by the American Urological Association (AUA), which has formally named Dr. Thomas F. Stringer as the new Treasurer-Elect of the AUA Board of Directors.

This is a fantastic and well-deserved recognition bestowed upon Tom who has dedicated so much time giving back to our profession from a clinical, service and educational standpoint. From the perspective of the UF Department of Urology, Tom has tirelessly contributed to the leadership of our team, our educational mission, working with learners at all levels including medical and PA students, advanced practice providers, nurses, residents and fellows. He is the first member of our department who has held a senior leadership role to this degree as an AUA officer. His knowledge and first hand experiences in both community-based practice and academia bring a unique skill set to this important role. Tom will undoubtedly bring great passion, dedication, humility and collegiality to his new role. Previously, Dr. Stringer was an AUA board representative for 5 years. He continues to serve as the inaugural president of the UroGators Alumni Society since its inception in 2007.

Congratulations Tom! This is a wonderful honor for you as well as our department.
