From Li-Ming Su, MD, FRCS (Glasg.)

Our UF Pediatric Urology team’s recognition as a top program by US News and World Report represents years of hard work in establishing a comprehensive program centered on each child’s needs.

Our team of physicians provide clinical services that span all aspects of pediatric urology from basic urologic conditions to complex congenital anomalies offering open, laparoscopic and robotic surgical techniques to address each unique case.

In addition, our advance practice provider and staff work alongside our physicians to provide timely and compassionate care to our patients and their families along their health care journey.

Join me in congratulating them!

From Romano T. DeMarco, MD

I am very happy and honored with our ranking in the U.S. News & World Report Best Children’s Hospital survey for 2021-22.

This ranking is recognition of the exceptional clinical care that our Pediatric Urology Division provides on a daily basis.  I am so proud to be a part of this dedicated team and appreciate the support from our wonderful Department of Urology and UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital.

Romano T. DeMarco, MD
Associate Professor
Chief, Division of Pediatric Urology

From Christopher E. Bayne, MD

The context of the ranking, not the ranking itself, is what we are proud of....

If you look at this list, it is dominated by freestanding, dedicated children’s hospitals.  The fact that we are able to be mentioned in the same list underscores the people we have here.  The knots Dr. DeMarco and I throw are the same as anywhere else, but the people supporting and helping our pediatric patients are special. This includes our nurses and coordinator in the division, our nurses and surgical techs in the operating room, and our nurses and staff in clinic and wards. When you aren’t as established as other children’s hospitals you really rely on people, not resources, to provide the best care.

That’s what we have: we have really great people who care deeply about children.

Assistant Professor
Division of Pediatric Urology
