Weekly Conferences
Mondays

- This conference focuses on the necessary medical knowledge and skills to interpret diagnostic radiological studies to apply medical knowledge in a case-based scenario. It is a joint learning activity for urology and radiology residents.
Tuesdays
- 7:00 am: Core Lecture Conference (Bi-Weekly)

- 7:00 am: Tumor Board (Bi-Weekly)
- This educational activity allows urology residents to gain a comprehensive understanding of the multidisciplinary care of patients with GU malignancies.
Wednesdays
- 7:00 am: Grand Rounds (Monthly)
- Continuing medical education, consisting of presenting the medical problems and treatment of a particular patient to an audience consisting of doctors, residents, and medical students. These lectures are given by the residents, urology attendings, and visiting scholars on selected topics. Frequently, a resident will give a lecture and the faculty will provide comments and conduct random tests on the residents’ preparation for the lecture.
- 7:00 am: Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement (Monthly)
- The foundation of this activity is a summary of all urological cases provided by a particular service line (i.e. Yellow-Oncology) presented by the most senior resident on that service stratified by case type. Presenting residents are asked to provide a brief synopsis of the incidence of a given complication/quality of care issue, predisposing factors and its most appropriate management. For each case presented, specific recommendations are made as to how to avoid the issue going forward.
- 7:00 am: Urology Case Conference (Monthly)
- This conference is a structured, case-based educational activity designed to enhance residents’ clinical decision-making and board exam readiness. This interactive session incorporates imaging, pathology, surgical techniques, and clinical guidelines to reinforce diagnostic reasoning and management skills.
Fridays
- 7:00 am: Journal Club (Monthly)
- One Urology faculty member hosts each month, selecting several articles related to a specific topic. The articles are selected from publications such as the Journal of Urology, New England Journal of Medicine, and etc. The residents are provided the articles for review, and they are discussed during the morning meeting.
