“I am delighted to take on this position, which will enable me to advocate for all patients receiving care at UF Health,” Crispen said. “My primary goal is to increase opportunities for our patients to participate in clinical trials, which will involve improving the efficiency of opening trials, enhancing identification of patients who may be eligible for trials, and developing investigator-initiated trials at UF Health that best meet the needs of our patients.”

It is my great honor to announce our department faculty academic promotions for 2023. Drs. Benjy Canales (Full Professor), Paul Crispen (Full Professor) and Padraic O'Malley (Associate Professor) each received their promotion notice on June 21, 2023 from Joseph Glover, the University of Florida provost and senior vice president of academic affairs. Each one of these faculty have contributed significantly to academic urology and especially the growth of the University of Florida College of Medicine Department of Urology.

The Exemplary Teacher Award recognizes outstanding performance in teaching. Faculty are selected based on the excellence of their teaching of medical students, residents and fellows, graduate students, post-docs and mentorship of other faculty.
